What is Transvaginal Scan (TVS)?

A Transvaginal Scan (TVS) is a specialized ultrasound procedure used primarily to visualize the female reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding tissues. This non-invasive imaging technique involves inserting a small, wand-like device called a transducer into the vagina. The transducer emits high-frequency sound waves, which bounce off internal structures to create detailed images on a monitor.

TVS is commonly employed for various diagnostic purposes. It helps in assessing conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, and abnormalities in the uterine lining. It is also valuable for monitoring early pregnancy, checking for ectopic pregnancies, and evaluating the health of the ovaries. Because it provides clearer images than abdominal ultrasounds, TVS is particularly useful for examining pelvic structures in more detail.

The procedure is usually performed in a clinical setting and takes about 15 to 30 minutes. Patients may be asked to empty their bladder beforehand to facilitate better imaging. While some may experience mild discomfort during the insertion of the transducer, it is generally well-tolerated and considered safe.

Important Appointment Guidelines:

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes early before your appointment.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled or you may be charged an additional 30% late arrival fee.

  • If you are unable to attend, please reschedule in advance through the Flabee Care app. You are allowed to reschedule up to three times at no additional cost.

  • Cancellation Policy

    a) Cancellations made at least 2 hours before the appointment: No cancellation charges.

    b) Cancellations made less than 2 hours before the appointment: A 10% cancellation fee will be charged.

    c) No-shows without cancellation: Deposit will be forfeited.

  • Waiting time may take up to 60 minutes from the scheduled time as we prioritise attentive care.

  • Prices does not include consultation services. Consultation services are available at non-HQ outlets for a separate fee.

Booking Confirmation:
Once your payment is successful, you will receive a confirmation email from us. Please check your spam folder. If you do not receive a confirmation email, it means your booking was not successfully processed. Please try to book again or contact our Customer Service for assistance.

Digital Delivery:

  • All pictures, videos, and reports will be sent via the Flabee Care app within 3–5 working days. Radiology reports are available upon request and are subject to extra charges.

Additional Options:

  • Printed images (RM2-5 per sheet).

  • If a radiologist report is required, an additional charge of RM25 per section applies. (Please inform the sonographer before your scan if you need this report.)
