What is Hips Scan?
A hip scan ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to evaluate the hip joints, primarily in infants and young children. This non-invasive test uses sound waves to create detailed images of the hip structure, including bones, cartilage, and surrounding soft tissues. It is commonly performed to detect developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), a condition where the hip joint does not form properly.
During the procedure, a gel is applied to the skin, and a small handheld device (transducer) is moved over the hip area to capture images. The scan is painless and safe, with no exposure to radiation. Early detection through a hip ultrasound is crucial as it allows timely treatment, such as bracing or physical therapy, to ensure proper hip development and prevent long-term complications like joint instability or arthritis

Important Appointment Guidelines:
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early before your appointment.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled or you may be charged an additional 30% late arrival fee.
If you are unable to attend, please reschedule in advance through the Flabee Care app. You are allowed to reschedule up to three times at no additional cost.
Waiting time may take up to 60 minutes from the scheduled time as we prioritise attentive care.

A paediatric hip ultrasound is performed to assess hip joint development in infants and young children, helping to detect conditions such as hip dysplasia, joint abnormalities, or other musculoskeletal issues.

For Sabah/Sarawak, please book at least 24 hours in advance.
